On the afternoon of April 23, the Workshop for Mongolian Practitioners in Liver and Infectious Diseases was successfully concluded. The workshop was sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and held by Hunan International Business Vocational College and the Training Center of the Department of Commerce of Hunan Province. A total of 25 trainees attended the workshop. Training Center of Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, organized experts in relevant fields to deliver the lectures.

The Workshop for Mongolian Practitioners in Liver and Infectious Diseases is Successfully Concluded

The workshop was opened on April 9 in Changsha, Hunan Province. Training Center of Xiangya Hospital customized the contents of the workshop in diverse forms and invited Prof. Chen Zihua, Deputy Party Secretary and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, Prof. Peng Shifang, Director of HR, Ms. Wu Jing, Deputy Director of Medical Affairs, Prof. Huang Yan, Deputy Director of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Prof. Tan Deming, Prof. Quan Jun and other experts from Xiangya Hospital to lecture on hospital management, public health management, liver disease diagnosis and treatment, etc. in details. At the end of each lecture, the trainees actively interacted with the lecturers. In addition to the rich theoretical training, the Training Center particularly arranged a half-day outdoor team building activity and a visit to Xiangya Hospital’s the Outpatient Department, XIMC and wards of Department of Infectious Diseases.

Wu Gang Barr, a trainee from Mongolia, said that during the 21-day workshop, he and other medical representatives from Mongolia learned a lot about China and the world’s practices in liver and infectious diseases, and would make full use of the knowledge they learned at this workshop to contribute to the development of Mongolia’s health care. He also hoped to have more opportunities to come to Xiangya for study and visit in the future.

Prof. Chen Zihua, Deputy Party Secretary and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, who is in charge of the Training Center, said that the successful conclusion of the workshop was an important manifestation of Xiangya Hospital’s adherence to the internationalization strategy. In order to respond to the “Belt and Road (B&R)” initiative of the Chinese government, and further demonstrate Xiangya’s image as a leading public hospital in China, Xiangya has not only attached importance to cooperating with the US, UK and other developed countries, but also has planned to further expand and deepen friendly relations with developing countries and carry out exchanges and cooperation in various forms including training and clinical observation, personnel exchange, and medical aid.
